He said the raid, conducted at Gunduwa Village of Gezawa local government area of the state, was sequel to an intelligence report gathered in the area about terror activities.

The items recovered after the raid Wednesday included an assault rifle, two AK 58 rifle magazines with 193 rounds of 5.5 mm ammunition, an AK 47 rifle with 107 rounds of 7.62 mm (special) ammunition, bow and arrows.

"These weapons, ammunition and other dangerous materials were meant to wreak havoc on Kano State during the coming Eid El-Kabir (Muslim) festival and other festivals before the end of this year, " Abbah added.
