Patna, Sep 27 (IANS) A forger Ranjit Kumar and his gang, who were arrested for printing fake stamp papers worth over Rs 100 crore in the state capital Wednesday, were also printing foreign currencies including US dollars and Euros, a police official said Friday.

"Gang mastermind Ranjit Kumar confessed that they were also printing foreign currencies like American dollar and Euro in Patna" a district police official said.

According to the police, the gang used an offset machine at a rented house for printing foreign currency and a mini-offset machine for printing fake stamp papers, Kisan Credit Cards, National Savings Certificates, bank cheques, postal stamps and court tickets.

"We have recovered locally printed US dollars and Euros from the possession of gang members," police said.

A special police team Wednesday arrested sixteen people and recovered fake stamp papers worth over Rs 100 crore from them here. All of them were sent to jail.

Printing machines, computers and other articles were also recovered, Manu Maharaj said.
