Nepal Army to invest USD 50m in service-oriented industries

Kathmandu, Thu, 19 Sep 2013 ANI

Kathmandu, Sept. 19 (ANI): The Nepal Army said Thursday it plans to invest approximately 50 million dollars in service-oriented industries.

The investments will be injected in manufacturing medicines, opening medical college and university and building housing apartments and guest houses, among other ventures.

This was disclosed by Ishwor Shrestha, a spokesperson with the army's Directorate of Public Relations to Xinhua.

"It is high time we utilise the money by investing them in profit-making sectors," the agency quoted Suresh Sharma, a former chief of the directorate, as saying.

The army is discussing potential sectors of investments and a decision will be finalised soon. (ANI)
