Guwahati, July 19 (ANI): Sleuths of the customs department seized another large consignment of drugs worth Rs. 30.5 million in Guwahati today.
"Today, the customs department has recovered Pseudoephedrine tablets, which is commonly smuggled these days from Beltona area of Guwahati, along with (a) wild life item, which is Pangolin scales. 85 Kgs of Pangolin scales were found with the drugs, which was (were) more than 100 kilos," said Assistant Commissioner of the Customs department Temsunaro Jamir.
One person has been arrested so far and investigations are underway. Jamir also said that the manufacturer of these drugs are usually clandestine in nature, and is brought through the Guwahati region on the way to Mynmar via Mizoram to make the infamous Party Drug.
The drugs were sealed inside the packets of soup, vitamin D and calcium, which were to be smuggled to Myanmar.(ANI)
