New Delhi, July 13 (ANI): The progressive trends on the socio-economic front in South East Asia could be a guiding light for the future of this region on the global plane.
This was stated by Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh while addressing a conference on 'India-Vietnam Relations and Regional Issues' hosted by the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) here on Friday.
He spoke on a wide range of issues, ranging from trade, economic relations, bilateral relations of India and Vietnam and more.
"By the end of 2012, we have concluded a successful year of friendship of Vietnam and India. Efforts made by both sides during the year brought about significant achievements, making firmer ground for our relationship to sow in the years to come," said Pham Binh Minh.
He also praised the existing mutual cooperation between India and Vietnam and linked these to regional and multilateral issues.
He highlighted growing trade and investment, science and technology and information technology as well.
"Our Asia is now becoming the centre of gravity, the engine of the world growth and economic recovery. In the last few years not withstanding global economic downturn, Asian economies revitalised the strong growth," added Pham Binh Minh.
Pham Binh Minh also participated in the 15th meet of the India-Vietnam Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation during his three-day visit to India. (ANI)
