Kolkata, June 26 (IANS) A week-long photo exhibition here showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam's ancient Cham dynasty has been attracting connoisseurs.

Titled "Traces of Indian Culture in Vietnam", the exhibition displays 54 photographs of deities and temples built in central Vietnam during the centuries-old Cham Dynasty rule.

"The photographs are of various Hindu deities excavated from time to time from the ruins of the Cham dynasty temples," said Geetesh Sharma, the man behind the lens.

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) organised the exhibition starting Monday at Bengal Art Gallery. The ICCR is also planning to hold a similar exhibition in Shillong.

The Cham dynasty was a Hindu kingdom that controlled what is now central Vietnam from approximately the seventh century till 1832.
