Ghaziabad traders protest police inaction

Uttar Pradesh,Crime/Disaster/Accident, Tue, 11 Jun 2013 IANS

Ghaziabad, June 11 (IANS) Members of Rajendra Nagar Industrialists Association in this Uttar Pradesh town are agitated against police apathy towards controlling rising crime and failure to arrest armed dacoits who looted a factory Monday night.

Association president K.K. Sharma said that armed dacoits barged into Pratibha Transformers' factory, tied up the security guard and looted five tonnes of aluminium and copper wire from the factory. They loaded the wires on a truck and fled.

He said that police registered a case of burglary instead of dacoity.

Sharma alleged that police are trying to frame the security guard for the crime instead of arresting the real culprits.
