NATO ministers to review cyber defence

Brussels, June 1 (IANS/RIA Novosti) NATO defence chiefs will meet in Brussels next week to review measures for protecting member countries from cyber attacks, a diplomatic source said Friday.

US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel will be among the ministers meeting Tuesday and Wednesday.

NATO secretary general Anders Fogh Rasmussen said in March the alliance planned to "strengthen cyber-security" in response to "regular" computer attacks.

In May 2008, seven NATO nations and the Allied Command Transformation formally established the Cooperative Cyber Defence (CCD) Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Tallinn, capital and largest city of Estonia.

Eleven countries involved in running the centre comprise -- Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, and the US.
