Delhi HC judge releases Hindi version of book on "Legal Language, Legal Vocabulary and Legal Writi

Noida (Uttar Pradesh), May 21 (ANI): Delhi High Court judge Mr. Justice Sudershan Kumar Misra on Tuesday released the Hindi version of a book titled "Legal Language, Legal Vocabulary and Legal Writing" authored by Amity Law School Professor Dr. Kavita Surbhi at the Amity Campus here.

The book release was done in the presence of Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group, Dr. Rahul Dev- Eminent Journalist, Amitabh Srivastav- LexisNexis Publications and Major General Nilendra Kumar- Dean, Amity Law Schools.

The Bar Council has, recently, introduced a compulsory Hindi legal language paper in five-year law colleges and universities, as a result of which now there is a paper as well as practical training imparted to budding lawyers in Hindi.

The book is written in an easy and lucid language, will cater to the syllabus of Hindi Language paper of various law colleges and universities of the country.

It will also facilitate the use of correct and appropriate words and expression at appropriate occasion and will be sent to Harvard, Yale and Singapore Universities

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Justice Sudershan Kumar Misra said that in India, there are many Hindi speaking states, and termed the book "Legal Language, Legal Vocabulary and Legal writing", as an important milestone in the strengthening of the legal language and legal vocabulary in the legal profession.

He said that it would benefit student practitioners, law teachers, judges, government officials, policy makers, general public and all those who are interested in the legal field.

He hoped that more books in Hindi and regional languages will be written in near future.

Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group, remarked that at Amity, every possible effort is made to ensure the development of students.

He described Dr. Kaviata's book as a noble effort that would endeavor to help readers, men in public administration and the legal profession comprehend the legal language, legal vocabulary and legal writing in a comprehensive manner.

Dr. Kavita Surbhi said the book outlines how to organise ideas, create and refine prose and nurture editing skills in the legal context.

Amitabh Srivastav of LexisNexis Publications highlighted how the dearth of specialized Hindi editors in the Hindi Belt led him to undertake a frantic search for editors in nearby cities, and finally, the book was edited by an editor located in Bangalore. (ANI)
