Washington, May 13(ANI): Former American Football player O.J Simpson, who was acquitted in a case of murdering his ex-wife and her friend, will stand in a court room again.
In 2008, Simpson was charged with robbery and kidnapping at a hotel in Las Vegas, where he claimed that he was only taking back memorabilia that was stolen from him. The charges landed the celebrity football player in prison.
CBS News reports that Simpson was never told about the plea bargain offered by prosecutors and that the same attorney knew about his hotel memorabilia sting and had advised him that he was within his legal rights.
He will be appearing before a different judge who will hear evidence on the 19 claims made by him regarding ineffective counsel and attorney conflict of interest.
Simpson, 65, has spent the last four years in prison and must serve at least nine of the maximum 33-year sentence before even being eligible for parole. (ANI)
