Haldwani (Uttarakhand), April 24 (ANI): Mango farmers in Uttarakhand are anticipating bumper production due to favourable climatic conditions.
A mango farmer, Nand Kishor said favourable weather conditions would result in a good yield.
" We have witnessed 80 percent mango production. We expect it to remain good in future, as we are taking care of our crops by putting pesticides. If we are able to save our crops from the storm then our production will be good," Kishor said.
Haldwani horticulture officer, P C Kandpal said he was hopeful of good yield.
"We are expecting that there will be 80 percent mango crop production if we are able to save the crop from storms," Kandpal said.
Alphonso, Banganapalli, Kesar, Langra, Chausa, Mallika and Dussheri are the most popular varieties from across the country, and their prices vary.
India produces more than half of the world's mangoes but exports from only a tiny portion. (ANI)
