Lahore, Apr 17 (ANI): Pakistan Twenty20 captain Mohammad Hafeez has reiterated his support for Test and ODI skipper Misbah-ul Haq, saying that Misbah is a cricketer with a positive frame of mind and is also a good leader.
Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt had recently claimed Hafeez and coach Dav Whatmore had formed a nexus to pressurise Misbah, a statement that drew a strong denial from the two team members, the Express Tribune reports.
According to Hafeez, Misbah, who is also enjoying successful captaincy in domestic tournaments, had successfully taken charge of the Faisalabad Wolves and led them to victory in the Super Eight Twenty20 even after a hectic and a disappointing tour of South Africa.
Hafeez further credited Misbah with inspiring the players with his positivity, adding that they are in the finals of the President's Cup because of him.
Meanwhile, Hafeez has also expressed satisfaction with the team's preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy to be held in England later this summer, adding that he hoped the team will be completely ready for the eight-nation tournament after the training camp in Abbottabad next month. (ANI)
