Harish Rawat inaugurates exhibition at 2nd India Water Week

New Delhi, Apr 9 (ANI): Union Water Resources Minister Harish Rawat today inaugurated an exhibition at the 2nd India Water Week.

The exhibition is intended to show case the technology, latest development and solutions in improving efficiencies in the sectors of agriculture and irrigation, water supply and energy generation for benefiting various stockholders and general public.

The exhibition has a wide spectrum of product and service providers aggregating to more than 50 from the world over.

The exhibition will also provide a specialized venue for hearing about new materials and techniques in dam rehabilitation and improvement. It will also provide the Small and Medium Enterprises an international platform and a world class exposure, to develop their skills and providing them the accurate knowledge to increase their profits and by teaching them the corrective measures to grow and adopting the new and advanced technology.

Besides, identifying, encouraging the progress in the water industry and the allied ministries.

The participants include several departments under the administrative control of Ministry of Water Resources.

These include : Damodar Valley Corporation (Kolkata-West Bengal), Central Water and Power Research Station (Pune-Maharashtra), Central Board of Irrigation and Power (New Delhi), Central Soil and Materials Research Station (CSMRS) (New Delhi), Central Ground Water Board (Faridabad-Haryana), Central Water Commission (New Delhi), Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Aspplications and Ge-Informatics (Gandhinagar-Gujrat) and Bramhaputra Board (Guwahati-Assam.

Besides, a number of Private Companies engaged in manufacturing Water purification and water detecting devices have also erected their stalls in the exhibition. (ANI)
