New Delhi, April 4 (ANI): A group of 34 state civil service offficers promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and undergoing the 113th induction training programme at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, called on President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, President Mukherjee said that the role of the government in public life would always remain paramount.
Hence, he added: "The development that we envision for our society would depend on the quality of public administration."
He said that he believed that as experienced officers, working previously with the state civil services, they understood the reality of the country and its people well.
He wished each one of them the very best in performing their duty with honour, dedication and dignity.
He stated that during the training the officers would benefit immensely by sharing their field experiences and ideas.
The induction training programme aims to provide the officers inputs in public administration, law, economics, management and information technology.
The overall objective is to provide an All India perspective to the officers who have significant field experience in their respective states. (ANI)
