London, March 25 (ANI): Word puzzles may offer a solution to those who can't get a song out of their head.
Scientists have found a way of taking our minds off those catchy tunes, which is known as earworms, is by concentrating on anagrams, the Daily Express reported.
Psychologist Dr Ira Hyman, who conducted the research, said that something we can do automatically like driving or walking means you are not using all of your cognitive resource, so there is plenty of space left for that internal jukebox to start playing.
The study found that 'The Beatles' hits 'She Loves You' and 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' were among the catchiest songs with Abba's Waterloo and Changes by David Bowie close behind. (ANI)
