Kolkata, March 13 (IANS) Research students in West Bengal will soon be able to avail guidance from scientists and teachers of any university of the state through the 'State-wide University Network' or SUN.
"All the universities will be linked up through SUN. If researchers want some help related to their work and they want to approach a specific scientist in the state, then they can do so via SUN," West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) vice-chancellor Amit Banerjee said here Wednesday.
Slated to be launched in a couple of months, the information and communication technology project is an initiative of WBUHS, an umbrella body of 88 colleges and institutes in the state dealing in modern science, medical science, homeopathy and alternative medicine.
A medical philately museum is also to come up within the premises of WBUHS in Kolkata later this year, Banerjee said.
According to Banerjee, who has himself designed a medical stamp, the museum will display stamps of 19th century onwards along with their first-day covers and information brochure.
