Shillong, Mar 11 (ANI): Meghalaya Chief minister Dr. Mukul Sangma announced on Monday the names of his council of ministers to be sworn-in tomorrow at the Raj Bhavan.
The ministers will be sworn in around 11:30 am on Tuesday by Meghalaya Governor R.S.Mooshahary.
Speaking at the end of the two-day Special Session of ninth legislative assembly, Dr. Sangma said senior Congress leaders, Rowell Lyngdoh and Prof. R.C. Laloo, would hold the post of deputy chief ministers and three women legislators of Congress would be given ministerial berths.
He also said, "Salseng C. Marak would hold the prestigious post of Chairman of State Planning Board and former Chief Minister, Dr. D.D. Lapang would continue as Government Adviser besides shouldering additional responsibility to look after the State Monitoring Committee for effective implementation of schemes and programmes of the Government."
The Chief Minister also said the Congress led Meghalaya United Alliance-II has got the support of 12 independent and two Nationalist Congress Party MLAs. Earlier, A.T. Mondal of the Congress belonging to the minority community of was elected unopposed as the new Speaker. (ANI)
