Bradford's Batman's identity revealed

London, Tue, 05 Mar 2013 ANI

London, Mar. 5 (ANI): A mystery had been sparked when an anonymous man - fully clad with Batman's boots, gloves and logo across his chest - handed a suspected burglar to officers at Trafalgar House police station in Bradford.

West Yorkshire police have now revealed that they think the caped crusader is a friend of the man who was turned in, and later arrested, Sky News reported.

A retailer in Bradford has come forward to say that she might have sold the man his Batman outfit a few days before the incident, which happened in the early hours of February 25.

Kathryn Sutcliffe, who runs The Joke Shop in Kirkgate Market, told BBC Radio 5 Live that she sold a 1960s Caped Crusader costume to one customer.

She said that she sells only a couple of these older outfits every year.

Sutcliffe said that the man, who bought the costume, was quite a large guy and when she saw him on the CCTV she thought, "he looks like a similar build."

She asserted that the man was in his 20s, dark brown hair, a bit of stubble and was quite a nice-looking person.

She added that the man had paid with a credit card, so she has a name, but refused to reveal it.

Earlier, CCTV images had been released by the police in the hope of tracking down the undercover superhero. (ANI)
