Vijay Chhibber takes over as Road Transport and Highways Secretary

New Delhi, Feb 1 (ANI): Vijay Chhibber assumed charge as Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport And Highways, here on Friday.

He replaces A.K. Upadhyay, IAS (BH: 75) on his retirement yesterday.

Chhibber is an IAS officer of 1978 batch and belongs to Manipur-Tripura Cadre. He is on central deputation and was holding the charge of Secretary, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare from September 10, 2012 to January 31, 2013.

He had earlier been Special Secretary and FA Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Ministry of Shipping.

Chhibber, who is an alumni of Delhi University's St. Stephens College, belongs to Haryana. (ANI)
