Durban, Jan 24 (IANS) Morocco forced Cape Verde to a 1-1 draw in their second Group A match at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) here.
In a reversal of role, it was Morocco - with a better football pedigree than the Islanders - that was struggling to level up after Cape Verde got ahead in the 36th minute through Platini Wednesday, reports Xinhua.
It was not until the 78th minute that the North Africans equalised, thanks to Youssef El Arabi.
The result marked the second draw recorded by each team since the tournament started, and left them with two points apiece.
South Africa leads the group on four points after beating Angola 2-0 in an earlier match at the same venue, while Angola is at one point.
Morocco next takes on tournament hosts South Africa while Cape Verde tackles Angola in the final group matches.
