BJP Delhi Pradesh President Vijender Gupta revealed about large-scale corruption of thousands of crores in the name of development work in unauthorized colonies of Delhi by the Delhi State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation. The CBI had investigated into this corruption. CBI found all the allegations of corruptions to be true and forward a report to the Chief Vigilance Officer of DSIIDC recommending stern departmental action against 12 senior Engineers found guilty of corruption.
Gupta said that CBI had forwarded its confidential report for necessary action on 22nd February to the DSIIDC. But in place of taking action on the report, Delhi Government promoted the corrupt engineers and threw the report of the CBI in dustbin. It clearly indicates that the degree of corruption in Delhi Government and its departments and their attempt to cover up corruption.
Shri Gupta gave the aforesaid information to the press person today. He further told that on 26th November, 2007 Delhi Cabinet had laid down guidelines for the development works in 1500 unauthorised colonies. Under this programme development work on large scale was to be undertaken in these colonies which included constructions of roads, drains etc. This work was awarded to DSIIDC and Irrigation and Flood Control Department. These works were completed between the years 2007-09.
CBI found evidence of large scale corruption by the DSIIDC in these works. The CBI inspected these construction works and found that work orders worth 600 crore rupees was divided into 884 work orders deliberately to show them of less than 1 crore rupees each so that the approval of Chief Technical Examiner may not be required.
Gupta alleged that CBI in its surprise inspection has found that DSIDC had handed over the works of 11 Works division to only 1 Superintending Engineer which is illegal. He allege also that the material used for construction of road are of lower grade and below the standard quality.
