India beat New Zealand by an innings and 115 runs in the first test match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here Sunday. Now, India led the 2-match series 1-0.

Earlier, Spinners Ashwin, Ojha took nine wickets haul and forced New Zealand for follow-on.

Following-on, New Zealand could only score 164 in 79.5 overs on day four of the series opener and lost the match by an innings and 115 runs. India made 438 runs in the first inning.

Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took his second six-wicket haul of the match.
