Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticized Minister of State in Prime Minister's office V. Narayansamy for his remarks in which he has accused the CAG for not following the constitutional mandate. Party has said that it is the actual face of Congress in which it is free to target all the constitutional bodies which raises their voices against the rampant corruption in the country.
BJP leader and spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said that Narayansami's remarks shows that he is ready to change the constitution of the country.
"This is too much. If Narayanasamy's heart wishes, he would even like to change the Constitution. CAG is a constitutional body and it knows its limits. And the CAG's reports are pinching them for they have disclosed the truth. So, they are now targetting the CAG," he said.
Javadekar alleges that it is the actual face of congress, which always defend all the corrupt persons and target those who bring the rampant corruption to the fore. Congress has never hesitate to target even CVC, CAG or the courts as they thinks it is the only suitable way to hide their corrupted deeds.
It is noted that commenting on the CAG reports tabled in the parliament, Narayansami has said that CAG reports were not final and accused the auditor general of not following its mandate.
The BJP, however, held Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh responsible for the Rs 1.86 lakh crore losses estimated by CAG in coal block allocation and demanded his resignation.
The CAG report on coal block allocation states that nearly 150 coalfields were allotted to private and state-run firms without transparency and objectivity between 2005 and 2009.
