North Delhi Municipal Corporation Standing Committee Chairman Yogender Chandolia has said that the announcement of Delhi Government to regularization unauthorized colonies without approval of Layout Plans is a political gimmick and another move to mislead the lacs of citizens residing in these colonies since 2008.
Chandolia rejecting the claim of Delhi Government that the Union Government have authorized them to regularize the colonies without approval of the Lay Out Plans said that as per provisions of Section 313 of DMC Act, Layout Plans can only be approved by the Standing Committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and Delhi Government in any case has no right to breach this right.
If Delhi Government sends Layout Plans after fulfilling all the formalities to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for approval, then they will approve the same within 24 hours, he added.
Chandolia demanded from Delhi Government that no development charge should be taken for regularization and they should be exempted from payment of Property Tax for next ten years. The colonies, which are developed on public land, should be given ownership rights only on the basis stamp duty fees and not on a price of the land. These colonies should also be provided facilities of Community Halls, Schools, Roads, Drainage System and all other civic services by Delhi Government as are provided in the regularized colonies.
