UP to develop Buddhist Sufi and Hindu religious circuits
The government of Uttar Pradesh together with central government has braced for boosting tourism in the state. An announcement of such effect was made on Saturday.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and union Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahay after an exhaustive meeting between the officials of both the governments said that a concerted effort would be made for the development of Sufi circuit, Buddhist Circuit and Hindu circuit.
Sahay praised the state government?s efforts to promote tourism and its integration with political and economic will. Sahay said he was very positive that tourism in the state will get strengthened as the chief minister himself looking after the tourism portfolio.
He also said that both the governments would devise means and ways to "hold the tourists" in the state so that it could be economically beneficial for the state.
Union tourism minister Sahay said that efforts will be made to revive the lost glory of the nights of Avadh. Sitting close to renowned film-maker Muzaffar Ali, he said that the government would develop and promote tourism on a public-private partnership model.
Uttar Pradesh Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav added that his government was closely working with the central government to develop the tourism industry in the state.
Akhilesh Yadav also said that the state was very rich culturally. He said that despite being home to heritage places and monuments like the Taj Mahal, Sarnath, Ayodhya, Allahabad and Varanasi, successive governments had failed to capitalize on these things to develop tourism.
