Rafael Nadal wins French Open Title record seventh time
World number two Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal has won the French Open Title ? one of the four grand slams tournament and most prestigious clay court title - seventh time by beating world no. 1 Serbian player Novak Djokovik by 6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5.
This victory of Rafael has proved his supremacy in the clay court while he has broken the dream of Djokovik of winning all the grand slam title at once. So far, Don Budge (1938) and Rod Laver (1962 and 1969) could have done this miracle.
This is the 11th Grand Slam title of Nadal, who has played 16th Grand Slam final so far.
This four set final concludes in two days as it could not complete on Sunday due to rain.
In the four set of tough final, Rafael won first two sets easily but lost the third set. The fourth set was toughest and reached to draw level which finally ended up at 7-5.
The 26th year old is now one behind Roy Emerson, three off Pete Sampras and five away from Roger Federer, the highest grand slam title holder (16th times).
After the match, the disappointed Djokovik said, "The better player won today, so congratulations for that."
"He is definitely the best player in history on this surface, and results are showing that he is one of the best players that ever played this game, and he is only 26 years old," Djokovic praised his rival.
