Ranvir Sena chief Mukhiya shot dead, tense in Arra

In a shocking incidents chief of Ranvir Sena, an upper cast militia Brahmeshwar Mukhiya was shot dead in Bihar. Assailants pumped several bullets in his body when he was on morning walk early on Friday. Incident took place at Katira Mohalla under Nawada police station. The law and order situations in the district are very tense and sources say that a curfew has been declared in Ara district.

According to sources, Brahmeshwar Mukhiya was on his morning walk when the assailants fired on him and pumped several bullets in his body.

After the incidents the angry supporters got violent and set many vehicles and buses on fire. They were so angry by the incident that they chased away police personal that were trying to take the body of Mukhiya for postmortem.

Angry supporters also attacked on the many public places. The district administration has deployed security forces in the area following the killing.

It is noted that Branmeshwar Singh alias Mukhiya Ji was the founder of Ranvir Sena which was supposed to be a private militia of upper casts landlords. Mukhiya is allegedly responsible for much carnage including Laxmanpur Bathe in which 61 Dalits were killed in December 1996.

He was facing life imprisonment in various carnage cases and was acquitted and released from jail last year. After his acquittal he was living a simple and low profile life in the area.
