Kolkata Knight Riders strike down Delhi Daredevils from first position

Kolkata Knight Rider chase down a comfortable score of 153 put on by Delhi Daredevils and took a lead of 1 point over them settling at top position in points table. The 51st match of IPL was played between the two sides in Feroz Shah Kotla stadium of Delhi.

Delhi after winning the toss decided to bat first but their batsmen couldn't click. Warner opened the batting with Sehwag, he replaced Kevin who has flown back home. He couldn't live up to the expectation and perished after scoring 21 runs. Sehwag too couldn't capitalize this time. Jayawardene got run out and Ross Taylor struggle with his form continued. Irfan Pathan though showed some clean hitting but overall Daredevils could only take the score to 153.

Kallis and Narine took 2 wickets each and Brett Lee and Bhatia didn't allow the batsmen to score runs. Kallis gave only 20 runs in his 4 over spell.

The chase for Kolkata was easy as Gautam and McCullum continued their good form. McCullum scored 56 and Gautam 36, they together put up a 68 run partnership for first wicket. Kallis too scored 30 runs and with it Kolkata reached the score in 18.4 overs with the loss of 4 wickets.

Delhi Daredevils bowlers were miserable as they bowled so many balls down the leg side making it easier for Kolkata.

Kallis was awarded man of the match award for his all round performance.

With this win Kolkata Knight Riders are now at the top of the table with 17 points and Delhi are just behind them at 2nd position with 16 points.
