Bandh paralyzed normal life in Delhi

Delhi Mahabandh called by the BJP to protest against price spiral, hike in the price of Petrol and CNG was a success. BJP has claimed that all the Traders Organizations, Retailers, Rehrdi-Patri Walas, Auto-Taxi Organizations and the people of Delhi supported the Bandh happily. The roads remained deserted in view of the Bandh call.

BJP sources claims that the people of Delhi preferred to remain indoors. As a result, there was Bandh in entire Delhi since the morning. Even the teashop owners kept their shops closed so that the deaf and dumb, paralyzed Congress Government may know the acrimony of the people. Under the Leadership of Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta workers blocked the traffic completely at many places in Delhi. The workers also stopped Rail and Metro Rail. The police arrested Pradesh President along with thousands of workers. After being released from the custody, he also visited Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, Connaught Place, Khan Market and other places and participated in the Chakka Jam and Bandh programmes with the workers. He took stock of the Bandh in entire Delhi and thanked the workers and traders for this unprecedented support to Bandh. He further said that if Congress Government does not roll back the increase the price of Petrol and CNG then the people will roll back the Government. 

The workers stopped Rail at Mundaka Railway Crossing. In Chandni Chowk and Karol Bagh the workers stopped the running of Metro Rail. S.Shri Ramlal, Ananth Kumar, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Sanjay Bhai Joshi, Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Vijay Goel, Prof. Om Prakash Kohli, Aarti Mehra, Vani Tripathi, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi etc. blocked traffic at various places in Delhi and courted arrest. On the call of BJP Delhi since the morning today thousands of BJP workers observed Bandh and blocked traffic at Connaught Place, Khan Market, South Extension, Greater Kailash, Chittranjan Park, AIIMS Market, Green Park Market, Hauz Khas Market, Malviya Nagar, Dwarka, Palam, Najafgarh, Nangloi, Paschim Vihar, Madipur, Punjabi Bagh, Moti Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Janakpuri, Jail Road, Tilak Nagar, Sadar Bazar, Paharganj, Chandni Chowk, Karol Bagh, Jama Masjid, Nai Sadak, Khari Bawli, Naya Bazar, Kamla Nagar, Shakti Nagar, G.T.B. Nagar, Gandhi Nagar Readymade Market, Sabji Mandi, Tri Nagar, Jai Mata Market, Shastri Nagar, Roop Nagar, Azad Market, Azadpur Sabji Mandi, Narela Galla Mandi, G.T. Karnal Road, Burari, Kirari, Kashmere Gate Auto Parts Market, Dariyaganj Market, Ansari Road, Azmeri Gate, ITO Market, Vikas Marg, Preet Vihar area were mostly affected by the protesters.
