CWG scam: CBI conducts raids on 20 locations

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a fresh case in connection of passing tender for laying synthetic tracks in five stadia during Commonwealth Games. Agency has raided at least 20 locations of various departments in these regards.

According to sources, a fresh case has been registered involving tenders for laying synthetic tracks in five stadia during CWG games held in 2010. It has alleged that due to the irregularities in the tendering of laying synthetic track, loses worth Rs. 30 crore have been traced in the scam.

Case have been registered against the various departments including Central Public Works Departments, Delhi Development Authority and sports company Shiv Naresh.

Agency conducted the search operations in 20 locations across NCR, Kolkata and Siliguri.
