Taking action on India TV's report against IPL players involved in spot fixing, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday suspended five players - Abhinav Bali, TP Sudhindra, Mohnish Mishra, Shalabh Srivastava and Amit Yadav (all Indian domestic players) - on the basis of allegation until preliminary investigation completes.
IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla informed to media that a Preliminary enquiry panel would be formed in the leadership of Ravi Sawani, former head of the International Cricket Council's anti-corruption and security unit.
Earlier, India TV broadcast a sensational news based on its sting operation on Monday alleging that few IPL players were being involved in spot-fixing and shown a video in which few Indian domestic players have accepted 'unknowingly in the hidden camera' that spot-fixing was not uncommon in IPL.
However, the players who have been suspended from the tournament have not played more matches in the current series.
The players who were suspended belongs to King XI Punjab (Shalabh Srivastava and Amit Yadav), Deccan Charges (TP Sudhindra), Pune Warriors (Mohnish Mishra), and a Delhi cricketer Abhinav Bali.
