Senior Advocate of Supreme Court and Congress party leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi today resigned from Congress Spokesperson and Chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on law and justice in the wake of a controversial CD that allegedly featuring him in compromising position with a lady senior counsel.
Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who made all his efforts to ban the broadcasting or publishing the CD featuring his 'morphed' and 'forged' picture as he claimed over television and newspapers but could not restrain to upload on internet.
After leaking the CD over the internet, Abhishek came under severe pressure and he finally resigned from all his party posts.
Submitted his resignation to party president, Abhishek wrote, "I have decided to resign as Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law, Justice. Personnel and Grievances and have informed the Hon'ble Congress President accordingly."
"I have also decided not to brief the press."
