Save water slogan echoed on World Water Day

On the world water day program was organised in capital in which leading personalities come together to highlight the fact that water is a basic necessity that must be equally available to all. On this occasion a colourful program was which highlighted the message of water for all. Program was organised by NGO FORCE in Delhi Haat in the capital. FORCE President Jyoti Sharma said that the program was successful in its initiative. She said that it is need of time to save water.

On the occasion many personalities revealed the fact that as water becoming increasingly scarce, the fight for water is getting desperate. Increase in sectoral water use efficiency, stringent laws to prevent pollution and water being treated as an economic good, are some of the measures being taken by governments all over the world. They said that this is not just a task for the government. We all need to contribute by minimizing our Water Footprint, building self-sufficient Blue cities and protecting our water sources and their quality.

Minister of Water Resource, Pawan Kumar Bansal had said during his visit that having organised this program that highlights water issues to so many people in such an interesting way. Water must be equally available to all but we all need to make focussed efforts at all levels to make this possible. Policy, technology and citizen efforts– all are needed. As the pledge stated today, let us adopt the 5 Rs of Water Conservation and start with making our homes city Water Wise and Secure.

Delhi Jal Board CEO Ramesh Negi said that our policy is to cover all, despite the constraints. Unplanned growth and high population density in certain areas, pose a challenge in water supply, but the DJB is already working to eradicate these problems. As residents, we all also need to make changes in our lifestyles so that we consume and waste less water.

On the occasion children of Rajdhani College took part in the cultural program.
