Latehar, (Jharkhand), Dec. 31 (ANI): Police rescued a woman cadre of the Maoist group here, who has alleged that she was a victim of rape and sexual exploitation at the hands of other Maoists in the area.
According to the police, the rescued woman belonged to Bihar's Chapra District, and many cases were registered against her.
Kranti Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Latehar, said the woman was abducted by Maoists and was part of their group for the last six months.
"The woman belongs to the Heranj police station, she was forcefully abducted by the Maoists. They had kept her with them for last six months and have not allowed her to meet her family members. They have exploited her," said Kumar.
The arrested woman cadre said that two to three more women have been forced to stay with the rebels. (ANI)
