Kuala Lumpur, Dec 25(ANI): Seven-times French Open champion Rafael Nadal has urged his fans to not expect instant results after he makes his long awaited return on court from a knee injury.

Nadal will join world number one Novak Djokovic and US Open champion Andy Murray in the six-player, three-day Mubadala Championships ahead of his return to the ATP circuit at Doha from December 31, the Star online reports.

Nadal said his prime goal right now is not to win any competition but to regain complete match fitness so that he gets fit ahead of clay court season.

Nadal, an 11-time Grand Slam title winner has been plagued by knee injuries throughout his career, a legacy of his all-action style.

The tournament in Abu Dhabi also features world number five David Ferrer of Spain, world number six Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic and Serb Janko Tipsarevic, the world number nine. (ANI)
