After the suspension of 2 Senior Police officer and transfer of a judge, Shiv Sena has called for a Bandh in Palghar in Thane district, near Mumbai.
Thane rural SP Ravindra Sengaonkar and senior police inspector in Palghar, Shreekant Pingle carried out the arrest of the two girls for a Facebook post questioning the bandh a day after Bal Thackeray died.
The Bombay High Court also transferred Ramchandra Bagade, the first-class judicial magistrate at Palghar who had given the girls bail of Rs 15,000 each. He was transferred to Jalgaon from Palghar.
However Additional SP Sangram Nishandar was warned in writing and reprimanded for neglecting the duty.
Calling for a Bandh Eknath Shinde, Shiv Sena MLA from Thane said, "The police acted as per the prevailing situation. Even the girls do not have any complaint against the police."
21-year-old Shaheen Dhadha who posted question the bandh on Facebook and her friend, Renu, who liked the post, were arrested but were released on bail after a public outrage over their arrest.
