Melbourne, Nov. 28 (ANI): The first plot details of JJ Abrams' 'Star Trek Into Darkness' has been revealed online.

The sequel to Abrams' popular reboot of the classic TV series was shrouded in secrecy until now.

What villain has been the subject of intense debate among the fans, with many hoping for Khan, the genetically engineered warrior who provided the original Star Trek its best movie, 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.'

Now it has been revealed that the villain is a one man weapon of mass destruction.

"When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organisation has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis," News.com.au quoted the official synopsis as saying.

"With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

"As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew," the synopsis read. (ANI)
