Sydney, Nov 21(ANI): South Africa has made two changes from the squad that played against Australia in the drawn first Test in Brisbane, bringing in leg spinner Imran Tahir and Faf du Plessis for the Adelaide Test, which starts on Thursday.
As expected, Tahir has replaced fast bowler Rory Kleinveldt and du Plessis comes in for the injured JP Duminy.
South Africa surprised by choosing Kleinveldt as a fourth fast bowler ahead of Tahir for the drawn first Test in Brisbane.
The spin options were further harmed when Duminy suffered a serious Achilles tendon injury, which required surgery and will keep him out for months.
Captain Graeme Smith claimed his side prefers to play a spinner on most occasions.
"Brisbane was a slight change for us the way we go about things tactically but it's back to normal now with Imran and hopefully he will play a big part in the Test," News.com.au quoted Smith, as saying.
Smith claimed the bowling from both sides was generally below par in Brisbane, and expected the Adelaide Oval wicket to play well.
"A lot of guys are looking to improve in this game. The wicket (in Brisbane) played a lot better than a lot of people expected," Smith said.
"The nature of the wicket is that it probably gets drier as the game goes on but at the moment it's got a good grass covering and the outfield looking really good. It should be a really good wicket for the first couple of days," he added. (ANI)
