Ludhiana, Nov. 17 (ANI): Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari on Saturday described as extremely unfortunate the clash that took place inside the premises of Rakabganj Gurudwara in Delhi, and asked Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to have some patience and allow the probe into the matter to reach its logical conclusion.
"See, what took place in Rakabganj is very sad and unfortunate. We should not politicise sensitive matters. Delhi Police is probing the matter. We should allow the probe to reach its logical conclusion," said Tewari.
"Senior leaders and in particular Parkash Singh Badal, who has been the Chief Minister three to four times, should have patience and allow the probe to reach its conclusion before delivering any verdict," he added.
Badal earlier on Friday sought Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's personal intervention to stop the Delhi Government from going ahead with its " move to interfere in the religious affairs" of the Sikh community.
Badal in his letter to Dr. Singh urged him to ensure that elections to the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) were held in accordance with the directions of the Supreme Court.
Badal, who expressed anguish over the clash inside the premises of Rakabganj Gurudwara on Thursday, in his letter to the Prime Minister said that the clash was a direct consequence of the chain of events unleashed by the "totally unjustified and provocative move of the Delhi Government to interfere in the religious affairs of the Sikhs through a proposed amendment to the electoral procedure in the DSGMC."
