Sydney, Nov 16(ANI): South Africa captain Graeme Smith trembled at the sight of Monty the Burmese python and refused to touch it during team's recreational visit to Sunshine Coast's Australia Zoo on Friday.
Smith played a straight bat while the snake was near but laughed with a mixture of disgust and delight as wife Morgan draped the slithery creature over her exposed shoulders.
"He just doesn't like snakes at all," the Courier Mail quoted a laughing Morgan, as saying.
However, Smith was happy to open his arms to Robbie the koala, describing the sleepy fellow as just like a Teddy, leading one of his entourage to remark: "There is a soft side".
Smith and teammates Fat du Plessis, Dale Steyn, JP Duminy, Dean Elgar and Morne Morkel are sharing some down time on the Sunshine Coast following the drawn first Test in Brisbane.
They were treated to some hands-on experience with a variety of zoo animals before touring the facility before the second test in Adelaide, which begins on November 22. (ANI)
