Sydney, Nov 16(ANI): Australia captain Michael Clarke has called upon the Adelaide expert Greg Blewett to bulletproof his top order ahead of next week's crunch second Test against South Africa.
The Australian team, in Brisbane, had invited test greats Matt Hayden and Allan Border, and Blewett is also happy to share the hometown secrets with the players.
"Michael Clarke wants to get the ex-players around the system a little bit more, I am happy to chat but won't be forcing myself on anyone," News.com.au quoted Blewett, as saying.
Former Australian batsman Blewett will make a timely entrance to the Aussie camp next Monday and Tuesday with opener David Warner struggling and one-Test No.3 Rob Quinsy's tenure linked to Shane Watson's fitness.
Warner should be first in line for resident 'batting whisperer' Blewett after averaging 28 against the West Indies in April, and getting dismissed for 4 in Brisbane, and 2 and 39 against Queens land this season.
"When David is playing well he should definitely be in the side," said Blewett, who averaged 59 in four Tests at the Adelaide Oval.
"I will be there for a bit of feedback. I think if you are there in the nets you get a better opinion on how they are going. It might be a concern but he just looks like he's struggling for a bit of confidence," he added. (ANI)
