London, Nov 14(ANI): England wicket keeper Matt Prior has said they have a serious group of bowlers in the team, and if they repeat their heroics in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, coupled with improved batting, it can certainly help them seal a series victory in India.
The performances of the England bowlers all winter were nothing short of heroic, taking all 20 wickets in four out of five matches.
"First and foremost, our bowling unit is a serious group of bowlers. The way they performed in the UAE and Sri Lanka at the start of the year was phenomenal. Because of the batting failures, not much was made of how well the bowlers did," the Daily Mirror quoted Prior, as saying.
"They didn't just bowl well, they did awesomely well and we just needed to get a few more runs unfortunately. Before we went to the UAE and Sri Lanka all the talk was about how do we take 20 wickets on these flat pitches," he added.
"Well, the guys did it every time and they did it cheaply a lot of the time. Nine out of 10 of those matches you'd expect to win. So if they can perform like they did last winter then we'll be in a very good position to win this series," he said.
England look set to miss the bowling of Steven Finn for the first Test in Ahmedabad, as he is not quite fully fit following a thigh strain. (ANI)
