Clarke says Warne's mindset inspired Australia to put pressure on Proteas in Gabba Test

Sydney, Tue, 13 Nov 2012 ANI

Sydney, Nov 13(ANI): Michael Clarke has revealed a judicious counsel from spin-legend Shane Warne inspired the attacking mindset that has given Australia a slight chance of victory in the first Test.

The home team was 4-487, with a lead of 37 runs. They will set their rivals a small but tricky total tomorrow hoping to somehow bowl them out within two sessions.

Captain Clarke stole the show today, notching a sublime double century to be not out 218 at stumps, while Ed Cowan also scored a century.

Michael Hussey also stroked a half-century at an excellent pace, and was unbeaten on 86 at the end of fourth day of the Gabba Test.

Clarke and Hussey's partnership came at more than five runs per over, and the dynamic captain credited Warne for the impetus that saw the home team score 376 runs today.

"One of the things Warney has taught me over the years is that the better the bowling the more positive you have to be," News.com.au quoted Clarke, as saying.

"That was my intent from the first ball I faced yesterday. I wanted to be nice and positive, play my way and put it back on the South African bowlers. Michael Hussey also showed great intent to score very freely," he added. (ANI)
