Pinki Pramanik reports confirms his masculinity; faces rape charges
Asian Games gold medallist athlete Pinki Pramanik is a male, confirms the medical test report.
After this report, he has come under the charges of rape and cheating.
Pramanik, who was arrested on June 14 after a woman charged that the athlete was a male and had raped her, had earlier on July 11 said the allegations levelled against her was a conspiracy to defame her.
She was granted bail by a local court in North 24 Parganas district earlier on July 10.
The Calcutta High Court had earlier ordered a probe into the alleged violation of Pinki's rights.
The court had also asked the government to file an affidavit against the allegations of rights violation within two weeks.
A 29-second MMS showing the athlete completely naked went viral on the Internet. The video was of Pinki undergoing a gender verification test at a private nursing home after she was arrested on June 14, 2012.
The West Bengal Human Rights Commission (WBHRC) had earlier issued a notice to the state police for insensitively handling Pinki's case.
