Haridwar, Sat, 10 Nov 2012 ANI

Haridwar, Nov. 10 (ANI): The Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, which staged a protest here on Thursday against Ram Jethmalani over his controversial remarks on Hindu God Ram, announced that a person who hurls a shoe at the veteran lawyer would be given a cash reward of Rs one lakh.

Baba Hathyogi, spokesperson of the Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad, an apex body of sadhus, said: "Ram Jethmalani is a wrongheaded person. He is a stain on Hindu community."

"Jethmalani is a member of the Rajya Sabha from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the party which practices politics in the name of Ram and considers him as its ideal. I request to the youngsters from the Hindu community to hurl a shoe at Jethmalani, for which the Akhara Parishad and Sant Samaj will award them Rs one lakh. The Akhara Parishad would also bear the cost of all the legal proceedings later," said Baba Hathyogi.

A large number of Sadhus and followers of lord Ram raised slogans against Jethmalani here and burnt his effigy to mark their protest against his remark.

Earlier on Thursday, Jethmalani invited controversy by saying: "Ram was a very bad husband. I don"t like him at all. Just because some fisherman said something against Sita, he sent the poor woman to vanvaas (exile)" (ANI)
