Super Model Naomi Campbell says bye after celebrating beau's birthday in Jodhpur
Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Nov.9 (ANI): British supermodel Naomi Campbell left India on Thursday after celebrating her Russian billionaire boyfriend Vladimir Doronin's birthday extravaganza with great fervour in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
The birthday was celebrated with great pomp and show with the guests being served multi-cuisine Rajasthani and continental flavours for dinner.
The party went on till late in the night as fireworks lighted the night sky.
Campbell herself reached on Sunday (November 04) to give finishing touches to the birthday extravaganza she has planned for Doronin, who turned 50 on Wednesday.
Around 80 celebrities attended the four-day gala, which took place at different locations of the city.
As per the reports, Campbell and several guests were dressed in traditional Indian attires.
The couple, who have been dating since 2008, had zeroed in on the Mehrangarh fort in Jodhpur for the pre-birthday bash, which saw a glittering attendance of the leading celebrities from Hollywood as well as the modelling world.
According to media reports, the catwalk queen had splurged $500,000 to have Diana Ross perform at her boyfriend's birthday bash, which took place at the lavish Umaid Bhawan Palace.
She had reportedly sent e-mail invitations to all the guests, which had a picture of Doronin posing underwater in true James Bond style.
Campbell had also planned an elephant polo match in the area, which had not gone down too well with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
The organisation has planned to approach the Animal Welfare Board of India and Rajasthan Wildlife Department to send Campbell a legal notice, asking her not to violate India's animal cruelty laws.
Though elephant polo is not illegal in India, organisers of such events were forced to cancel the matches in wake of rising opposition from animal activists
In 2010, Doronin threw a grand party for his girlfriend on the French Riviera, flying in the Black Eyed Peas and Grace Jones.
The guest list included Donatella Versace, Kate Moss, Giorgio Armani, Jennifer Lopez, among others.(ANI)
