Ayushmann draws cultural influence from Delhi (Movie Snippet)

New Delhi,Cinema/Showbiz, Sun, 04 Nov 2012 IANS

New Delhi, Nov 4 (IANS) VJ-turned-actor Ayushmann Khurrana says the capital's culture influenced him as a child and it helped him in enhancing his performances in his first movie "Vicky Donor".

"Delhi always treats me well. In fact, the place has given me a lot in life. Whatever I portrayed in my first film, the nuisances and everything, are from Delhi," Khurrana told IANS during his recent visit to the city.

The actor, who was born in Chandigarh, says that he spent good amount of his formative years in the capital, thanks to his mother who belongs to the city.

"I am a half Delhiite as my mom is from Delhi. So, literally I was here throughout my summer vacations. It really helped a lot in my career because if you bring your cultural influence in your performance, then it surely helps," he added.

The actor is currently shooting for "Hamara Bajaj" and "Nautanki Saala".

Impossible to please everyone: Kalki

Actress Kalki Koechlin feels unfortunate to see some of the brilliant actors not getting due recognition like their counterparts, but says that one can't live one's life on others' choices.

"I think you can't live your life trying to seek acceptance from other people, which is unfortunately what we do most of the time. If you really believe in what you do, then it should not really matter what other people think," the 29-year-old told IANS.

"At the end of the day you have to live with the choices you have made and there is nothing much you can do about it. It's hard, many times for actors," she added.

She gave an example of Irrfan Khan, who despite being known for his power-packed performances, is not in the league of big names.

"Despite Irrfan being a brilliant actor, he is not a biggest actor in India because of the choices he made and the kind of cinema he do, but that is a personal choice and I think they have very fulfilling lives," she said.

Kalki will be next seen in "Ek Thi Daayan".
