Varsha Bhosle daughter of Asha Bhosle has shot herself in the head at their Peddar Road residence here Monday, police said.
The incident has occurred around 12.30 p.m.
Police have arrived on the spot and are investigating. No suicide note has been found from the spot yet. According to police, Varsha pumped two rounds into herself.
The entire area has been ceased and people are being restricted from going near the place.
Varsha (56) worked as a freelance journalist was divorced and had also tried to commit suicide in 2008 and 2010 by consuming a heavy dose of sleeping pills. At that time she was immediately taken to the hospital and saved.
Varsha was staying with her mother. Asha Bhosle is currently attending a function in Singapore.
