Debate on "Media: Mass Communication or Market" organized in Khalsa College

An inter university debate was orgainsed by Hindi Sahitya Sabhaa in Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College of Delhi University. The subject of the debate was ?Media:Mass Communication or Market? which was organized in association with Uthan India Samajik Sanstha and media partner for the event was News Desk India.

Students from more than 30 colleges took part in the debate and shared their views. At the end of the function, Sangita Roy editor News Desk India distributed award to the winners.

Function begins with the prayers of Goddess Saraswati, which was highly appreciated by the audiences. Students presented their views on the topic and were divided in their views with for and against of the topic.

Sashidhar Shukla, a member of jury explained that no doubt today role of media is to communicate with the masses but the truth is that today marketing and such practices have highly influenced the media.

Sangeeta Sharma highlighted the positive role of media and stated the challenges for a media person today.

Team from Kirorimal College declared first where as Atma Ram Sanatan Dharm college was second.

In charge of Hindi department Dr. Smita Mishra welcomed the guests on the occasion.

Media can play a very good role for the development but now most of the channels are playing the role of an old useless person who just talk about others what they are wearing , whom they are dating with ? and whom they are living with ? Instead of these things they should fulfill their responsibility towards society and nation.
