French translation of Fifty Shades Of Grey sells 75,000 copies in 1 day
French translation of Fifty Shades Of Grey, which was released just two days in France has become the fastest selling book in French history.
Fifty Shades Of Grey is an erotic novel that has been written by E.L. James. It has overtaken Harry Potter novels as France's favorite book.
The book is selling around 75,000 copies from the very first day of its launch.
Before the book was launched French critics criticized the book saying it was crass pseudo-porn that reads like a Mills and Boon novel.
But despite the torrent of critical abuse, the copies of the bestseller novel have been flying of the shelves, French High Street giant FNAC said.
Fifty Shades Of Grey is the first installment in a trilogy: Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. The series has sold 40 million copies worldwide till today.
The lead characters of the book are named Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
